High-tide overflow

A high spring tide, made even higher by low atmospheric pressure, caused water from the New Cut (River Avon) to overflow into Bathurst Basin around 8.30am on 11th March 2020.

The overflow continued for over 30 minutes but had little effect on the water level in the Basin, which seemed to have been lowered overnight by the Harbour team. The last overflow into the Basin occurred on 3rd January 2014.
