About us

Merchants Landing is a quayside estate in the centre of Bristol. It is close to a lively part of the city yet is surprisingly peaceful. Situated on Spike Island, the estate is surrounded by water – the Floating Harbour, Bathurst Basin and the New Cut. At its centre the estate has a secluded private garden.

Merchants Landing Residents Association (MLRA)

MLRA was founded in 1984 to represent the interests of the residents. A notable early achievement was the pedestrianisation of Bathurst Parade and Merchants Quay. The Association is run by a committee elected by members at its annual general meeting, usually held in the autumn. The committee organises social events and until recently circulated a quarterly newsletter called Quay Notes. Use this link to view the Quay Notes archive. Use this link to view the latest version of the Association’s constitution (pdf).
