Maintenance work on Bathurst Bridge started on 1st September. The work includes waterproofing and resurfacing of the old bridge carriageway, replacement of the footway deck plus other works such as drainage clearing. The work will take around a month to complete.
When the maintenance work is carried out, permanent palisade fencing will be installed underneath the bridge to prevent rough sleeping. During the work traffic will be controlled by a three-way traffic light system.
