A new community group has been set following a recent meeting with Councillors Paul Smith and Kye Dudd. The meeting concerned the Council’s intentions to move a large residential barge (the Ebenhaezer) to the ‘no-mooring’ quay alongside Lower Guinea Street. Friends of Bathurst Basin (FOBB) now has its own web-site (www.fobb.org.uk). If you would like to join the group, visit the FOBB website and add your name to their mailing list.
Long-standing residents with good memories may recall that in 2006, a group with the same name was set up ‘to focus on development issues in the Bathurst Basin area’ (Quay Notes June 2006) . John Bates, the coordinator, has given his permission for the new group to use the same name.
